Meet The Record Dental Center Team
Benjamin R. Record, D.D.S
Dentist
Dr. Benjamin Record is a native of Clinton, LA and currently lives in St. Francisville with his wife, Dr. Ashley Record and 3 children: Lillian, Abram and Lucien Ross. When he’s not at work, he’s outside hunting, fishing, hiking, taking pictures, cooking, and spending time with Jesus in prayer.
After obtaining his DDS degree from LSUSD in New Orleans in 2003, he then completed a two-year hospital dentistry residency (GPR) at “Big Charity” in New Orleans. For two months, he worked at Pinecrest Developmental Center, Pineville, LA, providing dentistry for the residents and Special Needs patients living in the community. He was then called back to LSUSD theFriday before Hurricane Katrina and took over the GPR program as Residency Director! The following 7 years, he had many roles throughout LSUSD including to Clinic Director of the LSUSD South Campus Clinic that trained 4th year students, a dental hygiene program and the GPR residents, covered clinics in New Orleans, Houma and assisting the Pinecrest Developmental Center establish a program with residents rotating through it.
While in residency and teaching for LSUSD, he developed his complex restorative dentistry and sedation dentistry skills while working with various cases and patients, medically compromised and special needs patients including trauma patients, post-cancer, and surgical patients. The lessons he learned solidified the “mouth-body” connection, which emphasized that a healthy and functional oral cavity translates to a healthier body.
His interests lie deeply in sedation dentistry where he can provide all areas of general dentistry: restorative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, dentures, implants, trauma, and TMD management. Patients needing a little TLC or those needing to be sedated (orally or IV) is his calling and passion. He feels God has blessed him with the ability, training and willingness to work on those that have nowhere else to go.
After 14 years in Central, he is proud to offer a clinic he’s envisioned for years that is growing along with Central. Now having 2 associates, he really wants to focus on his true love: special needs dentistry.
Dr. Record is a member of Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, the LDA and ADA as well as American Society of Dental Anesthesia.
